While the Indians in Malaysia constitute less than 20% of our population, Thaipusam is a major religious festival for Hindus here and the whole country celebrates the occasion by having a national holiday.

Thaipusam is a Hindu celebration that venerates the Lord Subramaniam (aka Muruga) for destruction of all enemies, diseases and debts. Celebrations are held all over Malaysia, but by far the most important procession is held at the Batu Caves. Acts of cleansing and purity are carried out. The most dramatic of these are the kavadi carriers which seem to be painful but the devotees go into a trance while doing this.

Therefore, in conjunction to this holy celebration, Exabytes would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Indian friends, a very Happy Thaipusam!
