Domain names and hosting are the basics for people who wish to own their websites. There are free and paid domains and hosting. Free domains are usually third party domains, or sub-domains. For instance, exabytes.blogspot.com, is an example of Exabytes using blogspot.com to create a sub-domain for itself. An example of free hosting is blogspot.com but this article will focus on merely Domain Names.

However, since Blogspot.com is giving away free domain names, why do I need a paid domain? This is indeed a frequently asked question. Having a paid domain is to protect your brand name. Your paid domain name tells your site visitors about your website. Let your domain name speaks for your website. This is extremely important to retain your visitors to your website. The famous movie Gozilla has always reminded us of ‘Size Matters!’ But in last April when it came to judging a person’s ability at work and his/her professionalism, it appeared the opposite. For this person, size doesn’t really matter! Although she is small-framed by nature, she stands tall at work. Although she looks all cute and adorable, she is determined and capable in overcoming hardship at all costs.

In April 2011, she is our Employee of the Month who is worth a big round of applause! Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you our charming, adorable Venusian at Exabytes, our beloved Account Assistant, Jessica Sim!!

Not only is Jessica extremely helpful to juniors in guiding them, she is highly dedicated and has never minded putting in extra hours to clear up aging invoices. She enjoys mixing around with almost everyone in the office, and is known to be exceptionally patient even under work pressure.

It’s again the moment of truth! Time passes by like lightning and we are here again to announce our respected EOTM of March 2011. Before we reveal the big secret, we gonna keep you in suspense and let’s see if you could figure out who the big star is for the third month of 2011.

He is one of the Martians in our technical support team who possesses the most boyish charm. Talk to him and you will usually be greeted with a playful smile, and a super friendly and heart-warming “How are you doing?” In March, he outperformed many of us by taking the initiative to solve the issues in server migration even during non-working hours. Besides, when approached by colleagues and juniors for help, he is known to be ‘speedy’ and extremely helpful.

Any idea who this young man is?

Without further ado, let’s put our hands together for KK Kwan, our young and charming System Engineer!!

Not only is he a fast self-learner, Kwan possesses more amazing qualities at work which successfully impressed our ever critical judges of EOTM such as:

• Stays overtime to complete tasks at helpdesk

Sunday, 9.30 in the morning, 32 professional bowlers gathered… Oops, sorry, I mean unprofessional bowlers gathered at Suntec lobby, waiting to showcase their ‘exceptional’ bowling skills at Exabytes Bowling Tournament 2011.

They did not wait long before making their way to Sunshine Square, a department store which was just across the street. ‘They’ are us Exabees who are fun-loving and always believe that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Stepping into Premium Lane Bowling Alley located on the 5th floor at 10am sharp with very high spirit, we saw a janitor cleaning the floor and it seemed there was no one else in the alley except him!

‘Are we too early?’ Luckily a service crew of Premium Lane approached us, it’s true that we were their very first customers today. Since we were so early, the wise thing to do would be chowing down on the delicious breakfast prepared by the OC – hotdog ‘ban chiang kuih’ (a famous Penang pancake/hawker snack) to get our first dose of energy.
